Such a shame that the poor maintenance of this property lets it down. This detached 3 bed in beautiful Shropshire, in a quiet location with hot tub should offer the perfect relaxing get away but sadly it didn't. The beds didn't appear freshly made and there were hairs on the pillows. There were also hairs in the kitchen plughole and under the beds. Several lamps were without bulbs. The sofas were uncomfortable and dirty. The garden was untended and the hot tub canopy was mouldy. The oil fired heating was too hot and radiator controls couldn't be adjusted in some rooms. There were dirty, plates, glasses and cutlery in the kitchen cupboards. Some tlc and attention to detail might help justify the premium price this property attracts.

Too much 'shabby' and not enough 'chic' let this cottage down. Not worth the money.
A lovely cottage but spoilt by many things. The boiler/oven had been left on without any windows being left open for ventilation which resulted in the cottage being far too hot when we arrived. The garden is unkempt and in need of proper maintenance. The floors had not been swept properly as when we did sweep up on the first morning gathered a collection of debris and hair from the previous occupants. The two sofas in the living area has not been cleaned and there is dirt, crumbs, hairs and other debris between the cushions. I'm sorry but this is just lazy and slovenly housekeeping - or lack of it. Two of the bedroom windows are broken and not fit for purpose. The patio doors are rotten and need replacing. The issues with the windows and doors means that there is a security risk and the property could easily be burgled. The bed we slept in had not been aired and had an unpleasant smell. We had no Wi-fi/Internet connection all week as the service had been suspended. Could be a lovely property but needs some serious updating and renovation to justify the cost of rental and, at the moment, not worth the money we paid.

So much potential but owner/maintenance has let it down do not book
Location wonderful would recommend Bishop's Castle, hot tub was fantastic too. Property, quaint and with a lot of potential but has clearly been poorly maintained and not currently worth the cost at all. Not secure - flimsy doors that rattle in the frame and incredibly easy to break into. In need of freshening with paint etc which peels and is stained in places. Couch in snug not fit for purpose - its like sitting on the frame, smelt of wet dog on arrival until I aired it out properly. No running hot water as the Esse oil burner was switched off for summer - also meant no oven to cook with only a microwave and hob! None of this was made apparent on the description beforehand. Shower spits at you - there is a note in a book to say this is because of the incredibly hard water and they provide a spare shower head to use if its a problem - doesn't improve it. Last 2 days of the holiday there was a serious leak from presumably the roof when it rained. Contacted owner straight away who said she would send someone to assess. We ended up moving the furniture in the bedroom to save it, putting down 5 containers which all filled repeatedly and needed emptying several times whilst we were there. The last night this wasn't enough and it overflowed and leaked into the snug below whilst we slept so the last morning we moved furniture there and put more containers down. We repeatedly updated the owner about the worsening situation but were advised someone was going to look at it on the day we were leaving.

Everything was faultless the cottage was very comfortable and homely, the garden was very safe for dogs and the hot tub was great.

Everything we needed was provided; an excellent hot tub, garden and sun house. The location was first class. It was a fabulous friendly town with great pubs and fabulous for walkers.
