Until 1982 known as The Swan with Two Necks, this is an ancient inn dating back to 1476 with a noble history that has been transformed by the Keswani family into a superbly furnished hotel where the refinements of the present blend happily with the aura of the past. Today, the traditions of a town distinguished by its hospitality and beautifully preserved coaching hostelries are well maintained at this splendid inn of modern happiness. Although guest rooms have been designed with the present-day visitor in mind, a sympathetic eye has been cast at the buildings history. The elegant Georgian faade remains unchanged from 1743 when it replaced an earlier frontage following the great fire of Stony Stratford; the old stables still exist and fine antique furniture graces the rooms. These days, all is light, warmth and comfort on the highest plane

A special reference to the magnificent, oak-panelled Al Tamborista Restaurant is reserved and fully deserved; here, diners may experience by candlelight Italian and Seafood cuisine at its very best and most inventive. Also very deserving of a mention is the recently opened new wine bar and Rossette awarded restaurant - The Vine. DIRECTIONS TO DIFFERENT DRUMMER HOTEL AL TAMBORISTA RESTAURANT AND VINE WINE BARDIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTHExit at Junction 15. Turn right at roundabout (third exit) onto A508 to Milton Keynes.Continue on this road until you come to ROADE. Take a right at the roundabout and follow the A508 until you reach the OLD STRATFORD roundabout take the second exit into OLD STRATFORD through the traffic lights (the Swan pub is on your left). Continue down this road into STONY STRATFORD you will drive over the river Ouse. Take the next right sign posted Town Centre you are now on the High Street. The Different Drummer Hotel and Al Tamborista Restaurant are on the left hand side opposite The Fox and Hounds Public House. There is parking outside and behind the hotel.From A5 travelling from the North go through the town of Towcester continue on until you reach a large roundabout. Take the third exit signposted Old Stratford. Cross over the traffic lights and take the first right into Stony Stratford town centre. This is the High Street we are on your left approximately 500 yards down this road.DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTHExit Junction 14. At the roundabout turn left (first exit). At the next roundabout turn right (third exit). Proceed along the H5 straight over 10 roundabouts on the eleventh roundabout turn right onto the V4 (old A5) know as Watling Street. Continue along this road over five roundabouts take the next left onto London Road you are now in STONY STRATFORD.Proceed down this road over two mini-roundabouts and over three speed bumps. The Different Drummer Hotel and Al Tamborista Restaurant is situated on the right hand side opposite The Fox and Hounds Public House at the far end of the High Street.There is parking on the street or behind the hotel.
