Stratford upon Avon Photo Gallery
Here are a few photos from a recent visit to Stratford upon
Avon. We hope you enjoy looking over our shoulders!
This likeness of Lady MacBeth washing her hands is one of several Shakesperian characters that stand at the foot of the Shakespeare Memorial
Carved head on the base of the Shakespeare Memorial
Detail of a half timbered inn on Henley Street. This is a good example of the kind of traditional timber frame with brick infill that you will see in Stratford.
The Stratford Library. Here you see a good example of Stratford architecture - a mix of the old medieval timber frame style with red brick. Notice how the upper floor projects out, creating more space without adding to the taxable value of the property.
The front of the Shakespeare Birthplace
A section of the Shakespeare Birthplace front wall has been intentionally exposed to reveal traditional wattle construction techniques. This interwoven wall of branches would have been covered in daub and washed with limewash
