. we've got it! Built in 1866, The Old Rectory is a superb example of Victorian gothic architecture. Now a delightful family home set in its own grounds with croquet lawn and gardens, it offers a real taste of English country life

Beyond the stables are fields and footpaths leading to the medieval village of Lacock. In the drawing room at the Rectory, play the Broadwood piano or just relax with views that overlook front garden, drive and orchard. The house boasts many original features such as mullioned windows, creeper-clad walls, stained glass windows and an ecclesiastical bell! A guardian angel is at the pinnacle of the house next to our Latin inscription - "He who listens, learns most"

There's ample private and safe car and bicycle parking. Lacock is an oasis in Wiltshire, with its 17th century houses and Lacock Abbey, a gem of the National Trust dating back to the 13th century. We are blessed with excellent, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms a church and small shops

Close by is Castle Combe and the world heritage city of Bath and Salisbury and Oxford.

The Rectory offers a delightful large dining room decorated in true Victorian tradition. It faces south with huge windows offering delightful views of the garden and orchard. We have a large dining table for eight and also a table for two and four. Blue carpet and antique furniture makes this a breakfasting experience in comfort.

Directions:
Bristol Airport|Air|25|Take M5, then M4 and exit at J17 and take the A350. London Paddington|Train|110|Exit at Chippenham and then there is an hourly bus or it is a 10 min taxi ride to Lacock. M4|Road|6|From London take M4 west. Off at J17 and then on A350 around Chippenham. After 3 miles at large double traffic lights turn left (It says Lacock straight on). We are the first house on the right.
