If you've ever wandered around central London with a camera, you've probably been accosted (I can't think of another, more appropriate word) by touts ... er ... representatives ... of tour companies, offering you the chance to tour London's historic highlights on an open (or closed) bus. While these tours can be great fun, there's another option to consider; why not hire a knowledgeable local guide for a personalised tour in a tradition London black cab?
The advantages are obvious; you get a guide who can customise a tour to suit your interests, and give you much more personal service. There are many, many qualified guides offering tours in traditional London taxis. While these taxi tours won't be suitable for everyone (for example, if you are part of a very large group), they might be just the ticket for small groups or families who want to see London in some style.
