This ground floor studio apartment is in Windermere and can sleep two people.

The Stable Nest is a ground floor studio apartment in the heart of the Lake District town of Windermere. The cottage sleeps two people in open plan accommodation with a double bed, a sitting area and a kitchen along with a separate bathroom. Outside is off road parking for one car. Set right in the heart of the town, The Stable Nest is a superb holiday apartment for a romantic retreat in the midst of the Lake District National Park.

We stayed at the stable nest for the first time in December. We love Bowness on Windermere in the Lake district so were looking for somewhere to stay close to all the bars and restaurants as some holiday cottages in the lakes are a bit remote for us. The Stable Nest is on the top of the hill in Bowness with Beresfords, an Indian, a Pub, an Italian and a Chinese all less than a minute away so it ticked that box for us and we ate out quite a few times. It is a small studio apartment but had everything we needed and the location is great. It would be too small for a family but is ideal for couples. It was clean and cosy with a comfy bed and a modern kitchen. There is parking included which is a bonus and a bus stop very close if you want to leave your car behind. There are so many places to see on foot around Bowness and Windermere too. There was also free Wifi which proved handy in the apartment.

Location ideal for our needs - shops, cinema, restaurants and public transport.

We had a really good week at Stables Nest. The location was great and the flat provided everything we needed. On day two the toaster was not working, and when I reported this to your local office, someone brought round a brand new toaster, which impressed us. The only problem we had was the access road to the main road, which needs to be repaired, probably something the council have to do, as it caused us constant concern re the exhaust of the car, but fortunately managed without any problems. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, and we will certainly recommend you!

The location of the property was excellent. You could walk to local restaurants and shops and you were spoilt for choice with surrounding National Trust properties.

Whilst clean & tidy I think it is important for possible guests to know just how small the space is. Apart from about four clothes hangers there is nowhere to put your clothes. So you live out of suitcase which has to stay on sofa and leaves just the bed to sit on. I would not attempt to cook a meal there so had to eat out every day making it expensive. A guest house room would probably have been bigger and that would have included breakfast. An expensive mistake for us. Very disappointing.
