Bushel is a beautiful modern barn conversion adjacent to a nature reserve with glacial pools. It provides a great base for Hay, the Brecon Beacons, Hereford and Ludlow. Stylishly furnished in boutique-hotel style it blends both traditional and contemporary and provides a relaxing base for those seeking a tranquil setting for their holiday.
The open-plan living area is on the first floor to take advantage of the dramatic vaulted ceiling with gallery above. The sitting area is comfortably furnished with a Laura Ashley sofa and Gentlemen's club-style leather armchairs. Lamps are by Oka.
The bespoke sycamore kitchen looks out over the courtyard and you can watch the house martins flit around the eaves whilst you cook. The kichen is well equipped with professional pans, Sophie Conran china and food processors and blenders for your holiday smoothies. We also provide cookery books for a little inspiration.
Overlooking the sitting area is a gallery - great for teenagers to getaway and have their own space in the eaves. Downstairs both bedrooms have four-poster -poster beds - we like to spoil our guests and a little luxury is essential on holiday, isn't it? Beds have crisp white linen and proper pillows! The under floor heating and goose down duvets mean you will be cosy in the cooler months. There is an en-suite bathroom lined with travertine tiles for the main bedroom.
The second bedroom has a door out onto the courtyard and a stylish wet room with great power shower. There is a cloakroom off the hall. Outside there are two seating areas - a private garden to the front overlooking open fields and hills with table and chairs for four and a lawned area.
To the rear is the communal courtyard - a real sun-trap and in warmer weather you can listen to the gentle creaking of the barns - very soothing! There is a table and chairs for four for our guests adjacent to the house. There is a hidden gem of a nature reserve adjacent to the barn where you can walk or picnic in the meadows full of wild-flowers or watch the rich bird-life from the hide overlooking the lake ( we provide a picnic basket and rug). The Stagg with its Michelin star restaurant is just around the corner so you can be assured of an excellent meal.
