What more could you want.....
A lovely cottage situated in the centre of Middleton in Teesdale but having the advantage at being at the rear, so not on a roadside. Modern interior, having everything that you need to make this a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The cottage has a small games room with a small table football/pool table which with a bottle of beer provides fun entertainment as well as the DVDs, games and books you come to expect. The village has an excellent fish and chip shop, Helens Pizza and several good pubs, we ate at the Forresters which we recommend. A lovely place to stay in a lovely village.

Great cottage in a perfect location
A very nice house with a very well equipped kitchen in a quiet village. Two pubs, shops, and a fish and chip shop all in less than a five minute walk. The house is in the ideal location with nice walks and waterfalls only a few minutes drive away. The only issues we had with the cottage were: No locks on the toilet or bathroom doors, The showers need a mat or something in them as they are very slippery, On our day of departure the cleaners turned up Forty minutes before we were due to vacate and sat in their car, looking at us through the window, which was a bit rude. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Oak Cottage to others.

Beautiful cottage
We visited this cottage with our six-year-old daughter and three dogs. This cottage is extremely spacious and finished to a high standard. The location is fabulous it is directly opposite the river and extremely peaceful. There is a beautiful area up a stone staircase where you can sit and read in peace and further up the stone staircase there is a games room which my daughter absolutely loved!. There are two local pubs one of them is the Teasdale hotel (don't recommend this place. The staff are rude and it really is not a particularly nice place) the other place is Foresters. The bar area is not fantastic or cosy but the staff are great and have excellent personalities. The restaurant is lovely serving honest at home cooked food. The owner is French and I believe every week there is a French night. This was great! We also enjoyed the Curry night. The food is very well priced and the wine selection is exceptional. So we did several long walks. Just two minutes from the cottage there is a variety of walks that you can do including a walk along the old train line. We did this walk to The Crown in Mickleton Which we highly recommend. The food is absolutely wonderful and it is a big place so we were not disappointed by being turned away. We also walked over to Romaldkirk Visited the Rose and Crown. This was absolutely lovely but every table was booked on a Sunday lunchtime. Luckily they squeezed us in for a quick 30 minute sandwich! High force is worth a visit. A great waterfall in a very peaceful location. Also 60 minutes away is Beamish so My daughter enjoyed a full day out there! Overall this is a great location and the cottage is done to a very high standard. Sean the owner is contactable all the time and responds really quickly to your queries. We highly recommend this place.

Absolutely Stunning
We were the first people to book this property and it was truly fabulous The property is located in the heart of Middleton in Teesdale, right behind the Fish and Chip shop. The property is very spacious and is very well equipped, everything you could ever need has been thought of, and provided. Outside there is a small seating area and plenty of off road parking. We had a fabulous week here and would not hesitate to book again
