Cornwall Self Catering cottage, Stable Cottage, Porth, sleeps 4

Disappointing.
This holiday home could be amazing but the one thing that hits you straight away when you walk through the door is the horrendous smell of damp! The smell is all through the bungalow- in the cupboards, hoover, carpets....... so everything stinks and feels wet to the touch and it really disappointing!! On the positive side, the location is great, it is really beautiful- the description of the place and its location is spot on. There is everything you could need in the cupboards for a week away and the shower was fab too. Another plus was that the bedding and towels (which are supplied) are of fantastic quality (even if we didn't have pillow protectors on and one pillow was grotty and soiled). All in all I would not go back again because of the damp problem. It is in need of some improvements and modernisation too. Really disappointed as it really could be the perfect, relaxing get away.

Excellent Short Stay
We have just returned from a short break at The Stable Cottage for February Half Term. An excellent cottage with all the facilities and equipment you need for a self catering holiday for two adults and two children. It is within easy walking distance to The Mermaid pub which is on the beach and where they serve decent ?pub grub?. You can also do a coastal walk to Westgate Bay where there is a stunning beach with plenty of rocks to climb on and lots 'surf? if that's your kind of thing. The property was really clean and cozy and we would definitely go back again.
