UPDATE
After many years in Hyde, the archives are now part of the Winchester Discovery Centre on Jewry Street.
The Historic Resources Centre is the home of the Winchester Museums Service (contact information below).
The Centre serves a repository for historic and archaeological artefacts but also operates a useful public information program. Visitors can consult the computerised historic sites and monuments records for the area, and also access the collection of over 30,000 historic photographs. There is a small temporary exhibition area, which is accessible free of charge.
