the Reformation many rood screens were quite literally defaced
- the faces of saints were scratched out, as in this example.
Beautifully carved Norman doorway in the sanctuary (beside the
altar). The carving is remarkably well preserved; crisp and clean.

Again in the Milcombe Chapel; the space between the two large
south windows of the chapel is filled with this lovely 15th or
16th century wall painting. The painting depicts the journey of
a sinner through stages of his life.
