Photo of Stonehenge, Wiltshire. Part of the UK Travel and Heritage Image Library from Britain Express, Wiltshire Collection. These photos were taken in mid summer (the week after the summer solstice). A small group of us obtained permisssion to access the stone circle outside regular opening hours, and were able to walk among the stones - a real treat not available to regular visitors!

The Bloody Stone. The reddish discolourations on thiis recumbent stone were thought to be reminders of sacrifice, though in reality they are natural features
