Festival of History 2012Posted: 2012-04-19
I just received a note from English Heritage that early bird tickets are now available for the Festival of History 2012. The Festival of History is EH's flagship event, an annual 2 day extravaganza of heritage. The festival is held this year, as in previous years, at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire.
The Festival will feature over 2000 historical re-enactors, plus historical interpreters in period costume. There are live shows and interactive opportunities to experience our heritage close-up. Among the live shows for 2012 is a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings in 1066, and the last battle of the War of the Roses. There is a World War I trench and an appearance by the Roman army. You can put your feet up on the Victorian Beach, and attend lectures in the Festival of Historical Writing.
