Caerwent
Roman Town 
11 miles south of Newport, off the M48. Cadw.
44 acre site of a Roman town. Much of the 4th century wall remains.
There are excavated houses and a Romano-Celtic temple. Caerwent was
the tribal capital of the Silures. See
