The oldest building in Buckingham, the Chantry Chapel dates to the 15th century. It boasts an earlier Norman doorway. The chapel was restored by Gilbert Scott in the 19th century, at which time it housed the Royal Latin School. It is owned by the National Trust, who operate a small second-hand book shop from the premises. The chapel is quite simple in design; it has a central arched doorway topped by a rose window. On either side of the doorway are a pair of windows, one for each of the building's two stories. A small bellcote sits atop the ridgeline of the roof.
