A delightful, 18th Century detached stone barn conversion full of character and providing stylish, spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to four people.

This is a stunning detached stone barn conversion that has been beautifully restored to a very high standard by the owners. The open plan interior has a light and airy feel with the original roof trusses and a natural limestone floor retained as original features. The sleek modern kitchen has granite worktops and an impressive ‘Lacanche’ French range cooker.

A Scandinavian wood-burning stove separates the dining space from the sitting area and provides a cosy feel to the room. There is a luxurious bathroom and two bedrooms. An added bonus is the utility room.

Outside there is a large lawn with outdoor games, a patio with garden furniture and a barbecue. This is an opportunity to experience a unique holiday home that is a fabulous base to explore the stunning countryside that Northumbria has to offer.

Private & luxurious--all you could want
We couldn't have asked for more. A private location. Every feature you could want. Great kitchen. The best wood burning stove we've ever used. Perfect layout. Lots of space which was accentuated by large windows and skylights. The cottage was even decorated for Christmas when we arrived! We'd love to go back. It is all the more amazing since we arrived during Storm Arwen when the power was out. Elaine arrived with candles; Jeremy brought logs and started the fire. The power came back on but we had that kind of friendliness and responsiveness throughout the visit. For example, if we asked for more logs, Jeremy would respond in minutes. Wonderful walks along the beach just a short drive from the cottage. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay in a beautiful rural setting.

Beautiful countryside cottage
We had a lovely week at Croft Cottage and we were fortunate with the weather too. The cottage itself is beautiful; beautifully designed and very comfortable with all the facilities and bits n bobs that you need (a bit of salt and some cooking oil would?ve been useful though). It was so nice to have a good spec TV/DVD and proper Sky TV. We knew, given the location of the cottage, that we would spend most evenings in and having a decent entertainment system made our evenings really enjoyable. Most holiday cottages have very tiny TV's - a bit off putting for those of us who love a film in an evening. It would have been useful to know if we could have recorded on the Sky+ box - it was clogged up with stuff and we didn?t know if this was other guests using it or not. Staying with the tech theme. The WiFi connection is solid in the main living area but weakens in the bedroom. The cottage was really spacious with a second WC, a utility and a second bedroom so could comfortably accommodate more than just a couple. The garden is large and bathed in sun for most of the day, so ideal for relaxing with a book and a cuppa. It is a good 10 minute drive to Embleton so a stroll out to a shop, pub or the beach isn?t possible but if you're happy with that it is only a few minutes off the A1 and in a peaceful, countryside location. Do not miss the Thursday night fish n chip van in Embleton!! All in all we had a great stay and would love to go back one day.

Really great accommodation
We have really enjoyed our stay at Croft Cottage. Beautifully renovated barn conversion, spacious accommodation, scrupulously clean, delightful decor, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, nicely done bathroom, useful utility room, efficient heating system. Sadly the weather during our stay meant we couldn't enjoy the grounds, but we could imagine sitting out in the private and peaceful grounds with a glass of chilled white, even if we couldn't do it!

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the country.
Croft cottage is a superb place to spend a weeks holiday. It has everything you need and is very cosy, especially when you have the log burner on. The cottage is a 10 minute drive to the A1, which takes you to some beautiful sites like Bamburgh castle and Holy Island. My wife and I had a wonderful holiday and would think of returning again in the future.
