This terraced cottage is set over five floors in the centre of Whitby and can sleep seven people in three bedrooms.

The Captain’s Hideaway is a terraced cottage spread over five floors in the centre of the North Yorkshire coastal town of Whitby. The cottage sleeps seven people and has two double bedrooms (with ensuites) and a family room with three single beds, plus a family bathroom. Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room. With a roof terrace overlooking the Whitby Abbey and the sea, The Captain’s Hideaway is a superb holiday cottage in a wonderful coastal location.

Wasn't expecting a great deal due to the price and it would have been perfectly acceptable if the place was cleaned. We couldn't bring ourselves to use the cooker or dishwasher, the bins were full when we arrived, paintwork was patchy and the coving covered in cobwebs. The garage was a godsend as other parking was impossible unless you wished to pay the ?7 a day for the council car park. Must admit that the accommodation heating system proved efficient during a chilly week but it did take a couple of days to get going. All said and done we had a good stay but more to do wth the family and the pleasant holiday resort that is Whity......will go back.....but to a different appartment

This is in an excellent location for browsing, walks and rides. The Captains Hideaway has a real fire, lots of space and what must be one of the best views in Whitby from the top floor.
Mr Berry

The location was fantastic, and the view from the roof terrace was a huge bonus. There was plenty of space for a family of 7 and a small dog. The house has a lot of character and felt very much like a home.
Mr Geary

Loved the history of the cottage, the real fire and the view from the balcony. In a great central location too.
Mrs Reeves

An interesting, quirky property with well fitted kitchen and vintage furnishings that suited three couples (and dog!) as all bedrooms were of equal size. The central location meant it was an easy to walk to town. Top floor terrace has stunning views across rooftops to Abbey. Road parking in central Whitby will always be difficult but with two permits and a garage we had no problems.
