Thornfield is a charming, detached cottage, situated on the outskirts of the Cumbrian village of Arnside. The cottage is set over four floors and can sleep twelve people in a double and a zip/link twin room on the lower ground floor, a super king-size double room on the first floor offering access to a room with a single day bed in the attic, a twin room, and a family room containing a double and single bed. There is a family bathroom and a shower room on both the ground and lower ground floors. There is a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, open fire, and doors to the patio, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside, enjoy use of lawned gardens, a decked patio with furniture, and extensive grounds with a summer house. There is also off road parking for four cars. Thornfield is a wonderful base for exploring Cumbria and the Lake District, with something to do for all the family.

Just back from a long weekend staying here with our family. Excellent accommodation, very clean and tidy. The house is beautiful and the location was great to be able to walk into Arnside. Every chance we will return for another visit!

Exceeded expectations!
Thornfield exceeded our expectations. The photos don't do it justice! From the moment the 11 of us arrived it was clear that this was a spotlessly clean, fully equipped, nicely decorated house with lots of space so that we could all choose to be together, of have some quiet time away in another room if we fancied. The cosy lounge, spacious kitchen and tasteful master bedroom were the main bits that stood out, together with the lovely gardens and surrounding countryside. A short walk away there are some lovely walks, shops, coffee bars & The Albion pub which serves excellent food. We will certainly be back!

Fantastic house for adults and kids
Just back from staying a week at this beautifully presented house. We were 6 adults and 6 kids under 5. Lots of space and lovely garden for playing / BBQing in. My 2 kids (3&4) had a blast staying in the attic bedroom which had lots of toys for them to play with. Short stroll to Arnside Knott with spectacular views across the bay/countryside. 15 mins walk to pub and tasty pie shop (The Bakehouse) and plenty to do for all in surrounding area - something tells me we may be back!

The house was enormous with some unusual features e.g.the top play room, which the children really enjoyed and the "underground" rooms which were great for our part of the family with a dog. The gardens were so well-kept without being formal and the different levels made it interesting. Our host was easily accessible by phone and very helpful.
