An Amazing Historic House in the stunning Yorkshire Dales
What a magical house to celebrate a significant birthday with family and friends. High Hall has 7 deluxe bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, with sumptuous beds, linen and towels. It truly has an atmospheric luxury setting with a dinning room that sits 14 people comfortably with a roaring wood burning stove and an enormous inglenook fireplace. The history is fascinating and we all felt very privileged to have been able to stay in such a well maintained and loved home. There are many outstanding features in this property and you do feel overwhelmed initially until you get your bearings. The bedrooms are all individual with their own unique characteristics and stunning views through the stone mullioned windows. The gardens are a true delight and are well planned and maintained. We had super weather and thoroughly enjoyed both the garden, walks in the local area and The Craven Arms.

High expectations were surpassed!
We arrived at High Hall after a week of uncertainty - would everyone be able to make the trip, given the new Covid variant of concern? So just getting there felt like an achievement. We had high expectations of High Hall and we weren't disappointed. A fabulous historic building with a wonderful mix of old, characterful elements and modern features. The hosts provided many special touches that really enhanced our visit, in particular, for our arrival: warm rooms, welcome basket, even coffee beans for the machine! The gardens were particularly beautiful and extremely well cared for. And watching the wide variety of small birds at the generous number of feeders from the kitchen gave additional pleasure. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Being here in the run-up to Christmas added to the magic, with a fabulous Christmas tree and the village full of twinkling lights. We hope to return! Recommend both pubs in this village - the Craven Arms and The New Inn; very different but both very good.

A great stayed ruined
Would love to be able to leave a great review but unfortunately I?m not able to do that after what has happened to us. We had a lovely stay at High Hall couldn?t fault it in any way, we got married over at Bolton abbey and used High Hall for all our guests. The house and facilities are out of this world but unfortunately it has left a very sour taste, me and my husband accidentally got a tiny blob of fake tan on the carpet in our bedroom and in a result of that it has cost us £1200 as the owner felt it was nessasary to replace to whole carpet for a tiny mark, we didn?t take out the insurance which I want to let anyone know in future who books to stay here make sure you take the insurance out. I told the owner I couldn?t afford to pay after he kept our £500 bond and he then said if I didn?t pay in 14 days he would take me to court and to retrieve all money. So please either take the insurance or walk round on eggshells as the owner will claim for anything. We wanted to return to the property as we have amazing memories there but unfortunately this has not been made possible. We know we was a fault and admitted liability but the owner had it cleaned and I was told it didn?t come out and then the day after he ordered a new carpet, he didn?t try any other resources or give us an option. Very disappointed with the whole experience and it has upset us highly. Very sad that such a beautiful home has the owners that it does!

Perfect family holiday home.
High Hall is a perfect place for a large family holiday. It's so homely and we'll equipt, it made the stay so easy, and we settled straight in. The owners have obviously gone the extra mile to provide a luxury feel to your stay from the super comfy beds with crisp white sheets, fluffy towels and quality toiletries, to the china crockery and quality glasses. High Hall has such a warm, friendly feel and the whole family enjoyed playing with the games inside, and out, in the incredible garden. We loved our stay so much, and will definitely be returning! ??

What an amazing place - Book if you can!
High Hall is an obviously well loved family home and the world is a better place for the generous owners opening it up for others to share! For such a huge (and it is huge!) place it managed to retain a homely feel that is so easy to get in to the swing of when you stay. The facilities and equipment are 5*, with more than enough of everything for the week, including things that we didn't even know we needed! Who knew you could toast bread on an Aga! We visited just before the 2nd Covid Tiering happened in England and was a hugely welcome break from a phenomenal 2020. The attention to detail to keeping guests safe during this time is a tribute to the owners and the helpfulness during the week with any minor matters was hugely reassuring. The briefing pack before arrival contained everything needed and it all went without a hitch. The quality of fixtures and fittings really were 5* quality including the bedding/towels which often let a place down. The location, at the top of the hill in Appletreewick is a great place for a number of circular walks and to be able to return cold and wet and quickly get the log burning fires on, or stand in front of the Aga or jump in the hot tub always lead to a great end to the day! Cannot wait to go again!!
