The Old Cook House is a lovely cottage nestled in Catterlen, near Penrith, Cumbria. Hosting two bedrooms: one ground-floor king-size and one first-floor twin with an en-suite bathroom, together sleeping four guests with a family shower room. Downstairs provides an open-plan kitchen/diner, as well as a sitting room.
Outside has a gravelled area with furniture, as well as off-road parking. There is also available an electric vehicle charging point at an additional cost for usage - directly payable to the owner. The Old Cook House is a wonderful choice for a country break to Cumbria.

After a very disappointing farm stay in Devon recently, the Old Cookhouse fully restored our faith in the genre Everything was efficiently dealt with from the start, arrival was easy and the quality of the accommodation was very high, as were the facilities. It's the perfect balance...very quiet and unspoiled, yet 2 mins from the M6 and 10 from Penrith. There are a reasonable number of local pubs around too.. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who were always on hand with a friendly greeting. Lovely to see the flock of sheep grazing outside the lounge window ! Finally, it's a great base to visit the whole of the Lakes, the Cumbria coast, Carlisle and even S Scotland.
