A very small gun fort, built during Tudor times to defend the entrance to Dartmouth harbour. The fort was built by the Dartmouth Corporation around the year 1510.

Church House is an attractive granite-built cottage dating to about 1540 It was constructed as a community centre, and later functioned as an almshouse, a school, a workhouse, and then as a village hall. It is open to visitors when not in use for village functions.

A working spinning mill set in a lovely Devon village. Coldharbour Mill was built in 1799 by Thomas Fox to spin wollen yarn. for the Fox Brothers company The mill was later converted to spin worsted yarn. It offers a unique glimpse into Georgian industrial architecture and enterprise.

The Exeter Guildhall claims to hold the distinction of being the oldest municipal building in England still in continuous use. A Guildhall existed on this site since the mid 12th century, but the present building is almost entirely a product of the late 15th century. The building is entered through a massive oaken door, carved by a local joiner in 1592.
