 Doddington Hall
We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences We took some photos of this location that we'd like to share with you

Doddington Hall An Elizabethan house of red brick, probably the work of Robert Smythson, who was also responsible for Hardwick and Longleat. A mix of rooms, ranging from intimate to bleak, is on display. At least as fascinating as the house is the story of its past. The Delaval family inherited in the mid 18th century, and the last of the line, Sarah Delaval, bequeathed the house to her paramour instead of her husband, (whose response must have been unprintable to say the least!) and so the estate passed to the Jarvis family, who own it still. Ah, love!

 Grimsthorpe Castle
We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences

Grimsthorpe Castle Grimsthorpe has been the home of the de Eresby family since 1516 and the house is a fascinating mix of architectural periods and styles. The oldest part is King John's Tower, which was built in the early 13th century by Gilbert de Gant, Earl of Lincoln. Gant intended the tower as a lookout point for his castle at Folkingham. Grimsthorpe was owned by a succession of de Gant and de Meaumont families, and on several occasions was a crown possession.
