Edington church, Armada chest

Edington church, Armada chest

15th century wooden 'Armada' chest. This would have been used for storing documents and other valuables. It was moved here from the Devizes museum because it was too heavy for the floor. It features a number of hidden locks and other 'state of the art' 15th century security devices.
