We are family (and dog) friendly and have plenty of facilities for children here at the farm including a 24' heated indoor swimming pool and a well stocked games room. Younger children can entertain themselves in our enclosed play area with swings and sandpit whilst the young adult of the group can sink into a book or get online with wifi access in each of our properties. All three of our cottages have their own private outdoor space with patio furniture and barbecue facilities.
Theres also plenty of other communal space around the farm including our marvellous conservatory which overlooks a large, well stocked pond for duck and moorhen watching. The conservatory can seat up to twenty people for dinner and is a great sun trap for reading a book well into the evening whereupon you can light the log burner for a little extra comfort. Halsbeer farm sits deep in unspoilt beautiful Devon farmland at the foot of the Blackdown Hills and consists of a number of barns which were renovated in 2001.
The farm itself dates back to William the Conqueror and was mentioned in the doomsday book survey of 1086. It sits in some 30 acres of farmland just a mile from the local villages of Kentisbeare and Blackborough. Set within 30 acres of farmland and on the edge of the Blackdown Hills Halsbeer farm is the ideal place from which to explore Devon's picturesque countryside.
Either on foot in the neighbouring Blackdown Hills, or by car with historic Honiton and the majestic Jurassic coast but a short drive away. We also have a heated indoor swimming pool to keep the kids entertained closer to home and ample space to kick a ball around in or take the dogs for a well deserved walk. This lovely three bedroom oak beamed cottage would have been the apple store here at Halsbeer farm.
Nowadays it's the perfect place for a family to get a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Cider cottage has flagged stone floors with an open plan kitchen living and dining area with oak fitments and is suitable for wheelchair users. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washer drier, microwave and double hob with a rise and fall worktop.
Leading from the kitchen area is a conservatory where you can eat your breakfast and open the doors to the front courtyard. At the rear of the kitchen there are double doors leading to a large paved private patio and barbecue area. The living area has a TV/DVD player and leading off the main living area there is a twin bedroom which can be made up as two singles or a double and includes a large en suite shower room (suite with rise and fall basin, shower seat for wheelchair users).
Upstairs there are old stripped pine floors with warm rugs and two double bedrooms. One with a 5? four poster bed with an en suite bathroom and roll top bath and another with a king size double bed with en suite shower room.
