Our top tips for enjoying a holiday in Dorset include: The Jurassic Coast - this stretch of beautiful coastline lies roughly between Lyme Regis and Portland, and offers incredible scenery, and the chance to find some of the fossils that give the area its name. Then there is Lyme Regis itself; the historic seaside town famous for its association with the novel The French Lieutenant's Woman. Get a dose of ancient history at Maiden Castle, near Dorchester, the largest hill fort in England, or visit Cerne Abbas, a beautiful little village famous for the huge hill figure known as the Cerne Abbas Giant. If you fancy something a bit more recent, try Corfe Castle, the remains of a medieval fortress on a tall mound overlooking a pretty town. Or get away from it all by strolling the clifftop walks near Studland. Then there is pretty Lulworth Cove, where the natural arch known as Durdle Door has been drawing visitors for centuries. Dorset is one of our favourite parts of England, and once you visit, you will see why!
