Average and not value for money
Booked through Sykes who I have used before and who I won't be using again as their descriptions don't ever seem that accurate. The accommodation is close to the beach, but be warned like most of Devon the walk back up is quite steep. Bigbury on Sea is small, but very busy if the sun is shining. There are no shops and for pubs you either have to go across to Burgh Island, or walk the coastal path to the next cove. To get to Bigbury on Sea you need to navigate some B roads, which are narrow lanes with occasional passing places. The property itself has a decent kitchen, which was reasonably well stocked with plates, etc, but no tea towels, or oven gloves (never had that before). The living room is described as 'spacious', when it is not. We slept in the twin bedroom, which was made up as a double. The bed was not particularly comfortable. Sykes description of the property mentions it having ground floor bedrooms, which might make it sound accessible for those with mobility issues, but the house is upside down, ie. living space on the 1st floor, which is where the front door is, so you still need to use stairs to get to the bedrooms.

Fantastic accommodation
Lovely accommodation. Kitchen very well stocked. All mod cons. Very comfortable beds. View is incredible from the terrace. Loved the area. No mobile phone signal but landline provided with honesty box. Lovely cream tea awaiting our arrival. Would love to return.
