Originally built as a barn in the 18th Century, this property offers an idyllic retreat for a couple looking to spend some tome together and get away from it all. The addition of a wood-burning stove makes this a perfect base from which to explore the region at any time of year.

Boasting exposed beams and a mezzanine bedroom, the property is full of character and offers spacious accommodation for two people. The patio to the rear allows you to soak up the views of the three acres in which the cottage is situated, whilst a wood-burning stove can transform the cottage into a cosy nest in the winter months.

An excellent barn conversion with lovely owners. Overall an excellent choice, really enjoyed it.

A beautiful cottage set in a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The sounds of the countryside and rural setting was perfect for a totally chilled week.

The cottage was well equipped and in a great location. It more than met our needs and expectations.

Brilliant location for exploring the region, with walks at your doorstep or within a short drive
Loved the cottage and the location! The fire was exceptionally nice. The bed very comfy and the sounds of the countryside, devine! Especially for us Londoners. Supplies were a bit frugal. For instance when we arrived there was a basket not quite full of wood and not much kindling but we were asked to pay ?5 for an 'extra' basket of wood. An empty black pepper container was in the cupboard and there were no clips or elastic bands which are really handy for keeping one's food fresh. We were going to have a BBQ but it was filthy so we fried our steaks instead. Having said this....we would go back! Because of the location, the lovely cottage and the owners were friendly but not intrusive. It is true what everyone else has been saying about the beams! Mind your head! My partner and I are both only 5'5" and we found them a little low ( he hit his head 4 or 5 times and it was painful! ) we joked that they should call it Hobbit House. I would suggest that the owners provide: more wood and kindling on arrival; look into getting a couple of beam cushions for those low beams; provide a list of what cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils there are so that we can bring our own of whatever we find useful that the cottage may not have. Another cottage we visited does this and it's a brilliant idea. And chuck that BBQ for a new one ( and ask people to clean the BBQ after themselves! ) These niggly things are the only reason we give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Relaxing and welcoming in a beautiful setting
This is a very appealing and comfortable rustic accommodation. It has charm and makes you feel very relaxed. It is well equipped and comfortable. It has a homely, individual feel. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The open plan living lends itself well. only slight draw back would be the number of low beams which I managed to hit with my head several times! Other than that a pretty perfect place to escape the world and enjoy the countryside. Would definitely go again!
