Good location
Three family members stayed at this property for 4 nights. This property has a good location for town and does have parking directly outside but you have to be quick to get it! However, having said that there is free parking available approx 50 metres away. The cottage has shared front door access with number 1 next door and the key holder was in the lobby area. Although the key code was entered correctly, the holder did not open easily, although we did manage to obtain the key but could not return it correctly on departure. It has central heating and once we had warmed up the property it was quite cosy. The radiator hadn't been turned on in the bunk bed room but I managed to pull out the bunk bed to rectify and warm up the room. The living room is a nice sized space and although the fire is an electric one, it makes a nice focal point. The settees are comfortable and having wifi was a bonus. The kitchen is also a reasonable sized space with a step down to access. An assortment of teas/coffees/milks/catering biscuits were provided. The owner also left a pint of milk in the fridge. All equipment was clean and although there is a dishwasher, we would have preferred a washing machine. There are some open display units which partially house crockery - although the crockery was clean, it might stay less dusty if housed in cupboards. No iron or ironing board. The kitchen has a back door which leads to a very small and narrow yard. We were unable to unlock the back door to have a proper look. If taking bikes, they would have to be carried through the living room & kitchen to access the enclosed yard. Upstairs is a good sized double bedroom which has a built in cupboard for storing clothes and spare sheets and towels. The property looks out onto the RAFA club opposite but wasn't noisy and we slept very well. The bathroom was reasonably clean with a shower over the bath. The water pressure was quite low. Towels are good quality and shower gel was provided. The second bedroom which housed adult bunk beds was more of a squeeze. It would be useful to have a bedside lamp in this room. A built in cupboard provided space for clothes storage & more sheets. The room is quite dark as the beds are right against the window & pulling the blind up was a bit of a manoeuvre. A lick of paint would freshen the cottage up as it looks like the decorating was done quickly & not finished particularly well. There was a bit of dust in the lampshades & the bathroom could have been cleaned more meticulously as a few stray hairs were in the bath & on the shower riser tray. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay.
