Gwalia Cottage is situated just outside the famous slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, home to the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway. Gwalia (which is an ancient name for Wales) is perfectly placed for discovering the delights of North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park. Mountains, lakes, castles and the spectacular Coastline are only a short drive away.

Within walking distance are the world famous LLechwedd Slate Caverns, home to Zip World and Bounce Below! Bring your bikes and travel at speed, down steep paths, which were once used for transporting the slate from the quarries - the list is endless!! If you prefer a more relaxing holiday why not visit the fabulous beaches at Harlech, Criccieth and Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog. Spend the day at the Italianate village at Portmerion or just curl up, with a good book and a glass of wine, back at the cottage! Gwalia has 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 4 people comfortably: 1 Double with beams and a feature fireplace, and 1 Twin which has it's own shower area. The upstairs bathroom has a bath, toilet, sink and separate shower cubicle.

The cosy living room features a inglenook fireplace with a multi fuel stove, beams, 32' TV and DVD Player, WI-FI throughout and 2 very comfy leather sofa's. The cottage also has central heating and double glazing, so no need to feel chilly on a winter's night!! The kitchen/dinning area has everything you could need: oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. The dinning area seats up to 5 people with views overlooking the mountains.

The steep rear garden has been imaginatively landscaped showing the exposed natural rock features with trees and shrubs. Halfway up there is a terraced area with seating. From here you can take in the magnificent views of the mountains.

There is also a very useful outhouse which will make a great place for storing your bikes. Pets are very welcome at Gwalia Cottage. 2 small/medium size dogs are acceptable.

All we ask is that you bring their own bedding, bowls and blankets etc. and please try and keep them off the furniture and restrict them to downstairs only..

As responsible pet owners please clean up after your dog before your departure. Thank you. Please note the following: Gwalia Cottage is on a quite stretch of the A470, which makes it ideal for travelling around, but please take care when crossing the road.

Gwalia may be unsuitable for children under 5 and those with limited mobility. The garden has slate steps and can be slippery when wet. Care should be taken at all times.

There are 5 steps leading up to the front door, directly from the road. However, the cottage is set back from the road by a small enclosed garden. There is on road parking.

You can usually park opposite the cottage or just a bit further along the road Change over days are Saturday to Saturday. Check in from 4.00pm and checkout at 10.

00am on the day of departure.
