The house sleeps twelve people in five bedrooms, including a downstairs single, plus four bath or shower rooms. On the ground floor is a kitchen with small breakfast table, a dining room, a sitting room and a conservatory, with a games room on a half landing.
Outside is a private garden with lawn and terrace with outdoor furniture and a gate to a seating area with picnic benches beside the towpath. Just 250 yards from a pub, Valley House is a comfortable place for a waterside break in Devon.

Avoid Valley House
This house is a disgrace. Dirty, worn and damp. As we opened the door the house had a bad smell. We think of damp and mould, there was evidence of damp all over the dining room wall. The lounge in particular smelt bad. The carpets and sofas were really old and covered in stains. The kitchen floor was brown with dirt. All the light switches and paintwork around them was filthy. Quite what the owners spend from 9-5 cleaning is beyond us. We left after one night.
