Only half good.at best.
We arrived at the bungalow Eithinog with fairly high hopes of a comfortable and relaxing stay. However, our stay has been less than ideal. First, the property is advertised as accepting pets, and there is a charge for this. However, we quickly found that the property was not really set up with any thought given to pet accommodation. The flooring in the whole bungalow, apart from the kitchen and bathroom, is thick new shag pile carpet. Not ideal for dogs paws. Also, the gardens are not enclosed. although the rear of the property has a small area just outside the backdoor which could be easily enclosed so that dogs could be allowed out in security, this has not been done. We had to improvise by pushing the bins around to enclose the space. Speaking of the bins it was quite annoying to find that when we arrived all the bins were full and had not been emptied by the previous occupants. Nor were there any instructions as to which day the bins would be emptied. Onto the sleeping arrangements. The beds are really very basic and uncomfortable. Think of a cross between a trampoline and a park bench. Plus they are too small. The rooms are a decent size so why didn?t they put two kings and a double in rather than two doubles and a single? The single mught even be a small single. It's tiny. The kitchen is hugely underwhelming. There is a tiny under counter fridge. The mugs were all purchased from Wilko and the plates very small. The saucepans are inadequate. The cooker is Newish but has no baking tray so actual cooking is impossible. In 1850 Joel Houghton invented the dishwasher, but 172 years later this fact has obviously been overlooked by the owners of this house. No tumble drier either. So it is only the washing machine which separates the domestic efficiency of this house from the cave. Generally the property is clean and well presented but it shows signs of a property down up on the cheap. The internal door handles don't work properly and appear to be the original 1950 fittings. The lighting is poor and their are few sockets. Outside there are a few battered chairs and a cheap plastic table lurking underneath the washing line. Really? In the year 2022? Would we book it again! Not if there was something better available!
