Monks Eleigh
Suffolk, England
Monks Eleigh is a pretty village in the Brett Valley, with a history going back to at least the 10th century when the manor was given to the monks of Canterbury. The monks owned the village until the Dissolution of the Monasteries and gave the 'Monks' appellation to the village name. There are numerous thatched and timber-framed houses, including at least two dating to the 15th century.
