Hanbury, Worcestershire, England
Hanbury Hall is a beautiful William and Mary mansion built in 1701 by Thomas Vernon, a successful lawyer. The house remained in the Vernon family for over 300 years but is now cared for by the National Trust. The Hall stands amid 400 acres of lovely gardens and parkland. There is a pretty 18th-century garden, now restored. Highlights of the Hall interior include an exceptional staircase decorated with wall paintings by Sir James Thornhill and very nice collections of porcelain and Dutch flower paintings.
