 Edzell Castle
  

Walled garden created by Sir David Lindsay in 1604. The walls themselves are a unique aspect of the garden, incorporating sculpted panels, flower boxes and niches for nesting birds. Summer house.

 Eilean Donan Castle
  

Spectacularly sited castle on an island (connected by a causeway to the mainland) at the head of Loch Duich. Parking on mainland, short walk over causeway to the castle. The castle was involved in many raids and sieges, reduced to rubble and authentically reconstructed to its medieval state in the mid 1900's. Two of the rooms are open to the public. The billeting room has 14-foot thick walls and a barrel vaulted ceiling. The banqueting hall has fine Sheraton and Chippendale furniture.
