The cottage lies in a handy location on the A487, between Aberaeron and the University town of Aberystwyth, on the Cardigan Bay coastline. Within about a 15 minutes walk (3/4 of a mile) there are two beaches and access to the All Wales coastal path on this stretch of Cardigan Bay. Llanrhystud is a pretty village with a post office/shop, small supermarket, church and The Black Lion, which serves food.
An open air market is held in the village each Tuesday. This cottage is a perfect base for exploring Cardiganshire (Ceredigion). There are many interesting towns and places, such as Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Lampeter, Tregaron and Devil's Bridge within a half hour drive, providing a whole array of things to see and do.
