A sumptuous Edwardian mansion, the home of Lord and Lady Palmer, built by Scottish architect, John Kinross. Life "upstairs" and "downstairs" are on display with rooms on view ranging from fabulous staterooms to the housekeeper's chambers. The elegant house was designed in the manner of Robert Adams, with ornate plasterwork ceilings and wall panels, urns, inlaid marble floors, columns, silk and velvet wall hangings, and curtains woven with gold or silver threads. One of the unique features of Manderston is a marvellous cantilevered marble staircase with silver-plated balustrade and brass top rail.
Home of the Earls of Haddington. Two wings of the house were built in 1725 by William Adam and added to in 1765 by Robert Adam. It has a castle style exterior. Two historic buildings joined together. The oldest is a 3-storey, L-shaped early 17th century tower house, while the newer part is a castellated country house built in 1795. The castle was badly damaged by fire in the 20th century but was subsequently rebuilt and used as a family home.

A exquisite Victorian Gothic mansion built in 1880 by Sir Robert Anderson for the 3rd Marquess of Bute. The Marquess wanted a house that expressed his recent conversion to the Catholic faith, and the house combined Venetian style with Gothic ideals, creating a very Victorian vision in red sandstone.

This delightfully elegant mansion, built in 1773, is one of the best examples of Palladian architecture in Britain. The interiors feature one of the best collections in existence of Chippendale furniture, with original bills of sale from the Chippendale works. The art gallery was added in 1811 and houses pictures on loan from the National Gallery of Scotland.
