Overlooking the historic market place of Wantage in Oxfordshire since the 16th century, The Bear Hotel has always been a staging point for weary travelers and today provides the perfect venue for a relaxing break.

The Bear Hotel has 37 en suite bedrooms all with hospitality trays, direct dial telephone, trouser press and hair dryer. All rooms have colour remote control televisions with sky sports 1, 2 and 3 plus premier movie channel along with the normal 5 channels. Our The spacious oak beamed Alexander's Restaurant is one of the outstanding features of the hotel.

Situated on the first floor with views over the market place and courtyard, the Restaurant provides excellent service to both residents and non-residents and offers a very high standard of cuisine with sophisticated A la Carte and comprehensive Table d'Hote menus. The restaurant is open each day for diners seeking a leisurely meal in comfortable surroundings or business people requiring quiet and discreet surroundings with excellent food and fine wines. At the end of the day the candlelit atmosphere of the restaurant provides the perfect setting for an intimate dinner party.

We are also located near to Blenheim Palace, Oxford City, The Cotswold Wildlife Park, Newbury and many more places for a great day out.
