Lancing College Chapel was begun in 1868 by Nathaniel Woodard, the curate of Shoreham-on-Sea and the founder of Lancing College. It is a stunning example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture with the largest rose window in England and a nave that is 90 feet to the highest point of its vaulting - more than most cathedrals.

The medieval church of St Peter's at Parham is located in the grounds of Parham House, a short stroll from the house itself. We do not know when the first church was built here, but the list of rectors goes back to 1148. Much of the current building is Victorian, rebuilt by Cecil Bishopp, the 8th Baronet of Parham House.

St James's is a lovely little country church in a beautiful setting near the River Rother. The church almost certainly dates to the late Saxon period, and there is obvious Saxon herringbone-style stonework on the outside walls of the chancel. The nave and chancel probably date to the mid-11th century or even earlier.

A late 12th or early 13th-century church set in fields, almost unchanged from the day it was built. When St Michael's was threatened by closure some four decades ago, a group of local people formed a charitable trust to look after it. A program of careful restoration undertaken by the trust has revealed very rare 13th-century wall paintings hidden beneath the grime of centuries.
