 photo, Dunyveg Castle

Also known as Lagavullin Castle, Dunyveg stands on a neck of land at the entrance to Lagavullin harbour, on the rugged south coast of the Isle of Islay. The first castle here probably dates back the 12th century but the current building is largely 16th century. There are public footpaths to the site from the main (only) road running eat past the Lagavullin distillery.
