Dunvegan Castle has been the seat of the Macleods for over 800 years. The castle stands on a low shelf of land on the west coast of the Isle of Skye, looking out to Loch Dunvegan, where seals bask in the sun. The prize possession at Dunvegan is the Fairy Flag, reputed to have magical powers in battle.
