The Victorian's seemed to delight in creating things that weren't what they professed to be. Craig y Nos Castle is a Victorian mansion in Gothic style, built in 1840 by Captain Rice Davies Powell. It was for many years the home of famed opera singer Adelina Patti, who welcomed the royalty of Europe to her home on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.
