Monmouth Castle photo, Monmouth Castle

Monmouth Castle is best known as the birthplace of Henry V. The castle was begun in 1067 by William fitz Osbern. In truth, not much remains of the castle buildings beyond a few walls and a recreated medieval herb garden. Part of the site has been adapted for use by the Monmouthshire Royal Engineers.
