National Trust for Scotland Gift MembershipsPosted: 2010-11-03
Christmas must be coming, for my inbox is filling up with notices from tourism bodies across the UK about forthcoming Yuletide events. This post isn't about an event, however, but a little something that might make a really nice stocking stuffer for someone who is keen on Scottish history.
The National Trust for Scotland is offering Gift Membership subscriptions. What I like is that the gift can be a one-time one-year membership, OR a recurring membership that just renews each year. That's a nice touch (and it saves you the trouble of thinking up a new gift next year!). Membership prices range from £18 for a young person under 25, to £76 for a family membership. There is also a sizeable discount if you opt to pay by direct debit.
If you're not familiar with the NTS, take a look at our brief overview here, or visit the National Trust for Scotland website. The short version of the story is that the NTS is the Scottish counterpart to the English National Trust. The two charities have a similar mission; to preserve national heritage for future generations.
The NTS maintains over 100 historic properties across Scotland, plus countryside areas including coastline, mountains, islands, and moorland. Membership in the NTS allows free entry into properties, and, as a bonus, you get free entry into National Trust properties outside Scotland as well.
For more details on membership visit the NTS website at the link below. We don't receive anything for recommending the NTS, it is just one of the many heritage organisations around the Uk that we'd like to encourage you to support.
