Palace Street is an absolute delight if you enjoy medieval architecture. Here is one of the finest; Conquest House. Though it looks medieval, Conquest House dates to the 12th century at least, with a Norman undercroft. More famously, it was the place where Thomas Becket's assassins stayed on the night before they murdered him in the cathedral.
