The Fordyce Joiner's Workshop is a museum of country craftsmanship, offering a glimpse of life before mass-production. Visitors can watch a master woodworker at his tools and enjoy a Victorian garden.
There are two buildings that make up the attraction; a traditional workshop and a modern visitor centre and museum. The workshop was used by several generations of skilled carpenters and the interior is crammed with museum pieces, partially completed woodworking projects, and tools.
The museum has displays on the village of Fordyce and its history, the craft of joinery, and a look at the family who owned and operated the joinery business.
The Fordyce Joiner's Workshop shows how important a carpenter was to rural life. Not only can you watch a carpenter at work using traditional tools and equipment, but see displays of historic joinery tools and see workshop machines.
