A harbour side Edwardian inn situated in the old Quaytown part of Minehead. Nestled at the gateway to Exmoor amongst the old fishermans cottages at the foot of the picturesque North Hill and the start of the South West Coastal Path the location is stunning. Serving traditional beers and river cottage style food for lunches and dinners and with a bar snack menu running all day it's hospitality at its finest.
With 12 bedrooms its a perfect venue for refreshments on days out and relaxing stays.
The Old Ship Aground is an historic Edwardian pub located on the harbour in Minehead. Spectacular views across the harbour to the Quantocks and Wales the location is idyllic. You can be sure to find a variety of Real Ales and Ciders in the pub to accompany our traditional pub meals and 'river cottage style' dishes.
Parties for up to 100 can be catered for in a private dining room. Glorious summer evenings can be spent in our outside areas and for the winter the roaring fire attracts a locals and visitors alike. It's 12 bedrooms are all individually decorated and offer a variety of single double twin and superking size beds.
All rooms have flatscreen freeview TV are ensuite and have tea and coffee making facilities. Minehead is the gateway to Exmoor, the first of Britain's national parks to gain the Dark Skies reserve status. Days can be spent exploring the moor seeing the wild Exmoor Ponies and Red deer and when the sun sets the night skies are spectacular.
There are a number of attractions easily accessible from the pub The West Somerset Railway is within walking distance as is Minehead Golf Course. A short distance away is the medieval village of Dunster which has a magnicent castle and is a fine day out for all the family. Bossington and Selworthy are charming National Trust Villages and Porlock is another popular village closeby.

The Old Ship Aground has seating for 40 people in the bar area and a dining room seating up to 80. We have two areas of outside seating for about 30 people with views across the harbour to The Quantocks where guests are welcome to dine and drink. Breakfast is served in the dining room between 8am and 9am Mon to Saturday and until 9.30am on a Sunday. Lunches are available between 12 noon & 2.30pm dinner is served between 6pm & 9.00pm. Bar snacks are available all day from 12 noon til 9.00pm
