We offer a comfortable trouble free stay with a delicious hearty breakfast to see you through the day. There are also unlimited hot drinks your room. A4 poster & luxury suite available.

Argyle House is situated in the heart of the West Cliff conservation area of Whitby and just two minutes walk from the cliff top harbour and the towns shops and restaurants. We are among a cluster of other guest houses and hotels in the area so ideal if we cannot accommodate all of your party in our guest house. Our famous cooked Breakfast is locally sourced so it also benefits the local economy as well as giving you the best possible flavour and quality.

We can also cater for vegetarian gluten free and vegan needs. Breakfast is served daily from 8:30am. Argyle House has been regularly inspected since we started in 2004 and awarded the four star rating by the English Tourism Council (Visit England).

Their overnight visit in 2008 was assessed over 8 overnight stays which we passed with flying colours. The second visiting inspector was very impressed with the guest house and loved the four poster room. We replaced Visit England with the AA in 2012.

We don't pay to subscribe to award schemes (such as best B&B or best breakfast) so we can offer you even more to ensure you have a comfortable stay all at no extra cost. Our product and service level is testament to our commitment to you our only priority. As a result we were awarded 5 STARS for Service & Hospitality in 2011 and can spend more on the quality of our products.

Our guest house maintains a continuous improvement program throughout the year. 2012 our last few rooms have been renovated with new wallpaper additional floorboards to help with soundproofing new carpets and completely new en-suites. Early 2012 saw new galvanised original style railings to the outside restoring Argyle House back to its former glory but with modern materials.

Argyle house already has free WIFI but we have upgraded to a high speed wifi standard (802.11N) improving communication speed from 50Mbps to 300Mbps. Its all background teckie stuff but it all adds up if you're waiting for web pages to load.
