Buckingham Palace Garden Tours
Posted: 2011-03-21Well, here's a chance that doesn't come around every day - I just got a notice from Buckingham Palace (I can't claim special inside knowledge - the same notice went out to everyone on their mailing list) that there are special late availability group tours of the palace gardens now available. Small groups of 15-25 people can tour the palace gardens on a spring day when it is normally closed to the public.
Tours include an introductory lecture in the Queen's Gallery covering the garden's history. There are also light refreshments, then you'll have an hour to explore the garden, accompanied by an expert guide. The 39-acre garden includes a summer house, rose garden, tennis courts, Waterloo Vase, herbaceous borders, and a 3-acre lake. There are over 350 varieties of wildflowers on view, and over 200 trees.
