If you're in the area of Long Melford, Suffolk, on Friday, 19 August, you might enjoy a fun family event at Melford Hall, a superb stately home run by the National Trust. A special Teddy Bear's Picnic has been organised by volunteers at the Hall, and will run from 11.00-4.30 p.m.
Children can bring along their own teddy bears and enjoy a programme of special events in the grounds of Melford Hall. On a related note, the National Trust has a month-long campaign allowing free entry to children at numerous properties, including Melford Hall.
To take advantage of the Kids Go Free campaign, visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ and download a voucher which gives free entry to two children with one paying adult or member. Note that even with the free entry you may have to pay GBP 2.50 to take part in special children's activities.
