There are a lot of photos of The Strand in this gallery of Colonsay! That's because it is such a magical place, one that draws me angain and again. The Strand is a mile-long stretch of sand that separates Colonsay from Oronsay to the south. For much of the day the straight is under shallow water, but at low tide it is possible to walk across The Strand to Oronsay.
